Then grab some dairy delights from Reed’s Dairy, which has locations in Idaho Falls and Ammon. This four generation family-owned dairy keeps a herd of Holstein cows, and locals love their milk, cheese, cheese curds, small-batch handcrafted ice cream, and a wide array of other dairy delicacies. Rexburg / St. Anthony / Rigby
The college town of Rexburg offers an abundance of affordable and delicious dining options. In the summer, check out the Rexburg Farmers Market which is usually held on Friday afternoons and evenings. Blister’s BBQ dishes up delicious pulled pork, tri-tip, brisket, and many other options—with plenty of potato-packed sides. The Hickory offers an abundance of barbecue options. Redd’s Grill is a favorite for burgers, and Casa de Ochoa Home Style Mexican Food serves up plenty of tasty meals.
Top your day off with one (or more) of the 30 flavors of homemade ice cream at G’s Dairy Delights. Enjoy monster cookie, huckleberry, or “Mom’s Masterpiece” with all the fixings. G’s also offers cheese curds and other items.
In St. Anthony, have a slice of pizza at Mad Moose Pizza, enjoy fajitas, enchiladas, and more at El Jalisciense Mexican Restaurant, or grab a bite at Idaho Burger Grill.
Rigby is home to favorites like the summer Rigby Farmers Market which offers fresh produce, ready-to-eat goodies, live music, and more. Lil’ Mike’s Bar-B-Que in Rigby serves up “meat by the pound” alongside an array of sandwiches, sides, and more. Try the brisket, pulled pork, chicken, and other delicious options. Then stop by The Cookie Cottage to satisfy your sweet tooth.
Swan Valley
Between Idaho Falls and Teton Valley, be sure to stop by the quiet community of Swan Valley, nestled alongside the South Fork of the Snake River. Stop by the Rainey Creek Country Store for a square ice cream cone. Or opt for a meal at Snake River Roadhouse Bar & Grill which serves up burgers and pizza, along with signature dishes like steak and shrimp tacos.
Teton Valley
In Teton Valley, start your day off by grabbing a breakfast sandwich or donuts at Yeti’s Post. During summer, the Friday morning Teton Valley Farmers Market offers a bountiful selection of tasty foods, from tamales and breakfast burritos to cupcakes—and, of course, plenty of fruits and veggies—in addition to bread, cheese, and more.
Cool off on a hot day with a shake or malt from the Victor Emporium or Driggs Corner Drug. The Emporium’s huckleberry shakes are “world famous,” and the fresh lime freezes sold at both ice cream parlors are another local favorite.
Citizen 33 in Driggs offers gastropub fare with an emphasis on flavorful locally grown ingredients. Forage Bistro & Lounge features seasonally changing menu items like pickled watermelon and ricotta salad, lamb enchiladas, and osso bucco. In Victor, Wildlife Brewing offers locally brewed beer along with an array of pizzas, salads, and more. Big Hole BBQ and the Knotty Pine Supper Club are Victor favorites for barbecue. The valley offers an abundance of Thai and Asian restaurants, including several Thai restaurants (including Chiang Mai Thai Kitchen, which focuses on Northern Thai cuisine) as well as AmerAsia Bistro which offers Asian fusion fare.
Island Park & Ashton
Stop by Ashton for a burger, sandwich, cheese curds, onion rings, or another delicious treat at FrosTop Old Fashioned Drive-in. This local institution—in business since 1965—also serves up shakes, root beer floats, sundaes, and other sweet treats. Big Juds serves up burgers, famous tater tots, and more.
In Island Park, Connie’s Restaurant and Saloon dishes up delicious steaks, seafood, chili, soup, salad, and other great meals. Last Chance Bar and Grill at TroutHunter appeals to anglers with a full menu from bison rib-eye to curry chicken, burgers, seafood, and more. The SODA Co in Island Park serves sweet treats like cookies and drinks. Be sure to check shop hours since they’re only open on weekends during certain times of year.
